Comment posted Rotten Hill Gang single now available in Rough Trade by Kev and Lucia.

We (as in old clash diehard and 16year old daugther) caught you guys at Carbon silicon’s casino 9 in Hammersmitz last night - both loved it, i made a point to thank Alexia(is this correct?) for great set at end of the night. It’s a right bastard i’m now stranded outside of London (many many many years!!) so don’t get to pick up so often on things happening, although with the help of the daugther i try my best. God this guy is waffling on, anyway any of those freebie RHG CD singles still available? We travelled 180 mile round trip last night to sample the joys!!! Reasons to get a free RHG single:

    1. Because I’m the first to request one. Unless I have taken too long to type this, that is.

    2. Because I think it is a rather good song that would go very nicely in El Buccanero’s yuletide hit parade.

    3. So I can stuff it into my iSpod to encourage me to go faster on the hamster machine at the gym, imagining one of the Rotten Hill Gang is trying to relieve me of the dusty leather wallet in my back pocket.

    4. Because I have taken time out to see the Rotten Hill Gang perform on about 7 or 8 occasions and given a well earned clap and hearty cheer at the end of each musical treat.

    5. Because I said so.

Now, reasons why I shouldn’t get a free single:

    1. Because I should be supporting this fine pack of minstrels in any way I can.

    2. Because I have snuck in to most of the shows without having to prize open the dusty wallet.

    3. Because I’m a greedy scoundrel.

    4. Because Rough Trade is 5 minutes from my work and for others it may be a pain getting there.

Hang on, this is to people who are in or around the area so that’s not a problem, and even if they aren’t there’s always Rough Trade’s online shop ( http://www.roughtrade.com ) to order the single from.

Let me see - that’s 5 reasons to 4 so hand it over or I’ll slit yer gizzards!

OK I believe that’s one CD to Mr Buccanero.

Hello Andre, thanks for the comment, it helps when just starting, cheers.

Err, can i have a copy of the single because err, i live local and i could come and collect it thus saving you the postage?
What better reason can there be other than it costs you nothing (apart from the single itsself of course, but we wont talk about that).

  5. The Scribe of Rotten Hill Says:

Yep, come and pick one up at the weekend from the Tabernacle (or one of the other gigs) if you make it.

Absolutely Kev - glad you enjoyed it!

If you find yourself at one of our gigs again come up and make yourself known to me.

Many thanks Scribster. It’s possible we may make it down on the 22nd for the Strummer benefit at the INN,a quick question for the fountain of Notting knowledge, do you know of any cheap although cheerful B&B’s in the manor, because to be honest to do the 180mile round trek twice in 2 weeks is a right royal pita!! PS - are you allowed the car keys again (read the earlier stuff in your blog) or does the wife insisit on driving you around?? Take it easy…Kev & Lu

Of course one of the things about living somewhere is that you don’t get to know other places to stay there, so sadly I’m not familiar with B&Bs in the area, other than to say there’s a whole bunch that I drive past occasionally on Wood Lane towards Shepherds Bush (a mile away or so).

The only place I can vouch for on Portobello would be the Portobello Gold, and that’s only because an American girl who’d visited it reviewed it for me (scroll to the end of that article). Don’t know what the prices are like though.

Wish I could be more helpful and in fact, at some future point I will be because it’d be useful for people coming to Carnival.
