Due to my occupation, there is many an occasion when I have to go into the zone at short notice, thinking i’ll pay it online when i get back to the office. Of course like many, i have a pretty hectic working day and before you know it i’ve even missed the second day to pay. I did write a letter asking why they couldn’t implement a system which automatically warned or debitted me. The aswer I received back was along the lines of, it would prove too costly and they were dedicated to saving Londoners money. Hmmm

Don’t, I totally understand your anger on this score. It’s like when it first started out it was £10, my brother went online to pay it on the day he incurred it like a dutiful fella, only to find it was now £20 as it was after 10pm or 9.30pm or something. Nowhere obvious in the spiel to promote it was this little fact mentioned. I was so angry. This kind of nonsense makes me want to go to the homes of the powers that be and extract £20 or in your case £60 worth of stuff out of their freezer or from their wallets, and simply say ‘ see how you like it’ and walk out.. x

It’s the same with the Parking ‘Ticket’ Mafia, 1 minute over or park in the wrong place (which is very easy to do in London as the signage is totally confusing)and hey presto you are £60.00 light or £120.0 if you challenge it!! The ‘law abiding’ motorist is a easy target for cash withdrawal..!!

Does this mean that the uni cycling isn’t going as well as planned, or was it one of those days when a uni cycle just doesn’t have that much needed, extra boot space ?

We travelled round England by car for our holidays this year but foolishly decided to pick a hotel within the congestion charge, which was already charging £20 per night for parking.Okay I knew there was a congestion charge in place but not to the amount of £60 which was revieled to my horror, then a couple of days later I was stung for another £60!!! They must have a little giggle to themselves when they catch people who havent a clue how the charges work!
